# How do I go about getting a brick porch built? I'm guessing I'd need someone in to do this as I've no brick laying experience. How much do you think it would cost for a roughly 3mx2m one to be built (only need 2 walls as others are house and garage)

No way of telling how much it would be without more info - approx. costs are £1-2k/m2 for extensions

You will need planning if its over 3m2 so get that first. (httpswww.planningportal.co.uk/permission/common-projects/porches/planning-permission). You don't need anything too fancy - You can hand draw if you like - There are plenty of examples on the planning portal

Check for any public drains within 3m of the footings as this can determine how deep the footings will need to be and if it can be built at all

Depends how much DIY you want to do. I built an extension in blockwork with no prior bricklaying experience. Not sure I could do it in face brickwork
