I have a confession to make. I’m a little obsessed with dog sledding…and…movies

I’ve been dog sledding in Alaska, and it’s not uncommon that I’ve seen every movie in the box office at once. Thank you Movie Pass

So, I figured I’d put my passions to work and give you the ultimate list of dog sledding movies. Make sure you scroll all the way to the end and I’ll tell you which 3 are my favorites

Notes
1. This is every dog-sledding movie I actually know of. If you happen to know of any others please let me know and I’ll get it added to the list

2. The following ratings are an average of the Amazon and IMDB ratings. My personal preferences can be found at the end of this post

3. Some of the following movies (i.e

Fang) aren’t true dog sledding movies, but they have enough elements that I included them

## Notable Mentions
I talked to several mushers who recommended some low budget movies and obscure documentaries. Unfortunately many of them didn’t have any reviews on IMDB or Amazon, or just were near impossible to find. So, I’ve added those here in no specific order

**Okpik’s Dream This documentary follow Harry Okpik as he recounts the momentous events of his life and cares for his magnificent husky dogs in preparation for the Ivakkak. Check out the trailer below. **Dog Gone Addiction Michelle Phillips, a young Canadian mother, Agata Franczak, a 48-year-old Polish adventurer, and Kelley Griffin, an Alaskan veteran all test their limits in the Yukon Quest. **Season of the Sled Dog A PBS special sharing Mary’s Alaskan lifestyle, celebrating the huskies in their everyday life, on the long race, and on a spring trip. **Appetite and Attitude A Conversation with Lance Mackey, about the world’s preeminent long distance sled dog racer. **Dog Power Dog Power Movie is a powerful look into the incredibly deep bond that forms between humans and canines as they train, play and race together. ## My Top 3 Favorite Dog Sledding Movies
I actually love every movie on the list above, even the hatchet job they did to one of the greatest novels of all time,
*Call of the Wild*. However, there are 3 movies that stand above the rest (for me). If you ever watch these movies you may even notice some similarities to *Hope In Every Raindrop*. **1. Iron Will Probably goes down as top 3 best endings of any movie I’ve ever seen. **2. Stone Fox I know I just said I loved the ending of *Iron Will*, well I love the ending of Stone Fox too. **3.Fang As I mentioned above, there were a couple movies on the list that weren’t pure dog sled racing movies, but no list like this can leave offFang*

Unfortunately there aren’t a ton of sled dog racing movies to choose from, but some of them are absolutely amazing

So, which ones have you seen? Any favorites?
